How to wash your snowmobile gear

OUTERWEAR

1. Empty all pockets and close zippers and velcro fasteners.

2. Turn the garment inside out.

3. We recommend using Nikwax Tech Wash®, but your regular liquid detergent is fine (do NOT use a softener).

4. Wash at 40° on a gentle cycle. Add four tennis balls if your garment is made of down.

5. Dry inside out on a hanger or tumble dry on low heat.

6. To make sure the water beads off like the first time you wore your gear: spray it with a good DWR. We recommend Nikwax TX.Direct®.

Your gear is ready to go!

MERINO WOOL

1. Fill the machine to a maximum of half when washing wool.

2. Use the washing machine’s wool cycle alternatively, another gentle 30° cycle.

3. For best results, use a wool detergent, such as Nikwax Wool Wash. Avoid softener.

4. Air dry flat or hung. Tumble drying can damage the delicate fibers in the Merino wool but also shrink the garments.

Air your clothes between wears!

CLOTHING

For the best durability; wash the garment inside out at a maximum of 40°. Hang dry and avoid ironing directly on the print.

BOOTS

1. Remove the liner and wash in lukewarm water with a small amount of mild detergent. Let soak for a while if the smell is bad.

2. Gently wring out the water and let it dry on a flat surface.

3. Rinse the outside of the boot with lukewarm water.

4. Rub with a cloth where necessary.

5. Rinse the boot with clean, cold water and allow it to dry.

Use a shoe disinfectant deodorizer spray regularly!

HELMETS

Shell: Clean regularly. Rinse with lukewarm water and mild soap, or wipe with a cloth. Let the helmet dry and polish it with a clean microfiber cloth.

Visor: Wipe clean with lukewarm water and mild soap. Do not use window cleaner or solvents, as they can damage the coating on the visor. Polish with a dry, clean microfiber cloth.

Liner: Use a disinfectant deodorizer spray regularly. If necessary: hand wash in lukewarm water, use a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly, wring out the water, and let the liner slowly dry without heat. Do NOT use a washing machine or dryer.

GOGGLES

1. Shake your goggle to remove as much snow or water as possible. Don’t wipe when wet! You may damage the mirror finish or scratch the lens.

2. Clean gently with a microfibre cloth.

3. Allow your goggles to air-dry.

Only clean the outside of your goggle. However, if you HAVE to clean the inside, only use a small amount of warm water and be gentle.

GLOVES

1. Wipe off any dirt with a damp cloth.

2. Air dry slowly. Do not use heat.

3. Apply a good leather balm with a cloth. Rub until the leather is saturated.

NOTE. Grease the leather regularly for better resistance to moisture and wear. Never put your gloves in a washing machine or tumble dryer.

CAPS

Keep your cap clean and dust free – do not put it in the washing machine or you’ll spill tears. If necessary, spot-clean with a damp towel. If that isn’t doing the trick, try the dishwasher (at your own risk). Yes, the dishwasher!

1. Make sure the dishwasher is empty and clean.

2. Add a dishwasher detergent pod to the dispenser.

3. Place the hat flat on the top rack.

4. Run a normal cycle on light wash or low heat.

5. Let the cap air dry on a flat surface.

Don’t wash different colored caps together!

OTHER HEADWEAR

For the best durability; wash the garment inside out at a maximum of 40°. Hang dry and avoid ironing directly on the print.

SUNGLASSES

Keep your sunnies nice, shiny, clean, and dust free with a microfiber cloth. In case of emergency: rinse them under a light stream of lukewarm (not hot) tap water. Apply a tiny drop of hand soap and gently rub both sides of the lenses. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean towel.
